Calendar of Events at First Presbyterian Church of Norwood

Meet Rev. Heather McIntyre:  Originally from the small town of Sistersville, WV, Pastor Heather McIntyre was an English teacher pursing a PhD in literature when she felt God calling her to congregational ministry. She enrolled at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and spent the next four years seeking opportunities to prepare her for serving churches in small towns and rural communities. Those opportunities included serving on the LPTS’s Christian Life Committee, helping revitalize and maintain a community garden, participating in year-long visioning project at a church going through some transitions, and providing regular pulpit supply and other support for two churches that were part of a five-church parish. Upon graduation, she received an award for excellence in field education. Since graduating seminary in 2019, Pastor Heather has been the solo pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Wadesboro. In 2020, she joined NETworX Anson (a group that takes a holistic approach to generational poverty in communities) and became a co-facilitator for its first two cohorts of students. She has also worked alongside other pastors and community members during various Ecumenical and community events. Pastor Heather loves spending time with her close family in West Virginia (including a 4-year-old niece she adores) as well as an extended network of family and friends in the Carolinas. She speaks often about her three very spoiled cats. She enjoys books, music, coffee, trying new food, walking, gardening, and college football. She looks forward to getting to know everyone in Norwood as we join together for this next stage of our faith journey. She prays that we can all support one another as Christ’s Spirit helps all of us grow in faith, understanding, and love.
